Our Mission

The Donor Collaborative of Wisconsin is a growing community of donors engaged in shared learning and high impact giving, working in partnership with Wisconsin organizations to enact enduring progressive values to sustain long-term system change, win progressive public policies, and to help elect progressives to public office.

Since December, 2007, Donor Collaborative partners have together given away over $1.7 million in donations to 15 organizations in Wisconsin – while each partner has also separately contributed on their own much more in addition to that. Donor Collaborative Partners act together in ways that no single donor can act on her or his own:

1. To inform and educate ourselves with the highest quality, most objective information;
2. To collectively fulfill funding requests that exceed the capacity of any one individual;
3. To jointly prioritize projects and organizations that seem most important to the progressive donor community as a whlie;
4. To leverage national funding for in-state priorities;
5. To fund efforts that benefit multiple issues, organizations and projects simultaneously; and
6. To build a sense of community with other donors.
